In vivo confocal microscopy – the instant decision making tool in keratomycosis
Differential diagnosis of keratomycosis remains a challenge in all parts of the world. In central Europe, infections are rare and results of cultures and biopsies are timeconsuming.
Since laserscanning confocal microscopy has become available, it has proven to be method of choice regarding sensitivity and specificity. Results have been published by many authors especially from China and southern parts of the USA. Correlations of clinical findings and confocal microscopic images are demonstrated and discussed.
